NORMA Welcomes New Board Members

Pohnpei, FSM – The National Oceanic Resources Authority (NORMA) is delighted to announce the appointment of two new members to NORMA board. The swearing-in ceremony was held at the office of the president on April 11, 2024. The two new board members are Kapilly Capelle and Wilson Waguk, who will represent Pohnpei state and Kosrae State, respectively. The ceremony marked the beginning of their four-year term.

During the ceremony, Vice President Honorable Aren Palik administered the Oath of Office to the new board members, who expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to serve on the NORMA Board. The new members join the esteemed NORMA Board, which already includes FSM National Board representative Patrick Mckenzie and the current Chairman of the Board, Peter Garamfel of Yap. The addition of Capelle and Waguk to the Board will enhance the expertise and commitment of the NORMA Board in advancing its mission, which focuses on promoting sustainable management of our Tuna. NORMA is well- positioned to address the complex challenges facing ocean resources in the region. As the new Board members assume their roles, NORMA reaffirms its commitment to sustainable
marine resource management.
